Who have been the most significant artistic influences on your work, and what aspects of their work/lives inspire you the most?

Many artists have profoundly influenced my musical journey and life path, but above all, it has been the environment surrounding me that has shaped my trajectory. My desire to escape certain places has been a significant driving force. I can attribute much of my inspiration to artists such as Pink Floyd, Hiromi Uehara, Keith Emerson, Ray Manzarek, The Lighthouse Keeper, Ennio Morricone, and Jeff Mills. However, it was Jeff Mills who played a pivotal role in my growth, taking me to the next level in our scene. He is truly a unique figure, and I've learned invaluable lessons from him.

Your musical development has been quite impressive over the past year. How has your background influenced your creative process and the evolution of your productions?

I focused on establishing artistic credibility, recognizing it as the foundational element, particularly in today's saturated scene where artistic value is judged by various parameters. This process commenced prior to the pandemic, but it gained momentum during a fruitful transition phase. Working on self-improvement proved to be the decisive factor in this endeavor.

What sources typically inspire your creative process? Do you draw inspiration from specific tracks, live performances, global travels, gaming experiences, or other sources?

My creative process is deeply influenced by the emotional state that permeates everything around me. It's a continuous journey shaped by the ebb and flow of everyday life.

Could you share your favorite hardware equipment in your studio? Additionally, are there any specific pieces of hardware you currently use and others you plan to incorporate in the future?

Certainly, at the moment, I utilize a selection of key synthesizers in my setup, including the Novation Peak, Nord Lead 2X, Nord Wave 2, Moog Subsequent 37CV, Nord Rack 4R, and Nord Stage 3. While I have additional equipment, these are the primary instruments that form the backbone of my sound. Looking ahead, I am also considering incorporating the Waldorf Iridium and Moog One into my setup for future projects.

Your use of chords and stabs in your productions is notable. Can you discuss your preferred reverbs and delays for achieving the desired processing effects?

To begin, I prefer not to confine myself solely to hardware. In today's landscape, there's a wealth of intriguing tools available that can enhance the creative process and streamline results efficiently. Currently, my setup includes the Mooer Ocean Machine, the RE-20, the Sigmund 2, and the Timeless 3. These tools play a crucial role in my workflow, allowing me to explore diverse sonic possibilities and achieve my desired outcomes promptly.

What is your approach to sound design, and how do you go about creating unique sounds in your music?

My creative process typically begins with crafting synthesizer lines, recording extended improvisations that span several minutes. From these recordings, I extract the most captivating and intriguing elements. I often dedicate entire days to this process, immersing myself in recording sessions for hours on end. Once I've captured what I need, I proceed to work on the drum tracks and then finalize the arrangement. Overall, my approach is characterized by its simplicity and directness.

You are preparing to launch your new label, "South Signatures." Could you provide some insights into what the label represents and what we can expect from it?

South Signatures represents an exciting new venture for me. As I wrap up my current projects in the coming weeks, I'm thrilled to be collaborating with many friends and colleagues whom I deeply respect and admire. While we acknowledge the past, our primary focus remains on the future and the innovative opportunities it holds.

Congratulations on becoming a father! How has this new chapter in your life impacted your perspective and approach to your career in music?

Every day brings new discoveries with my son, inspiring me to continually strive for improvement. Now, most of what I do is driven by my desire to provide the best for him.

Your album released on Jeff Mills' label Axis showcased your exceptional talent as a musician. Can you share your experience in creating this album and collaborating with such a prominent figure in the techno genre? Are there plans for more diverse releases like this in the future?

The making of 'Nuovo Futuro' was a lengthy process, spanning about a full year. Given the circumstances of the pandemic, we collaborated remotely, particularly during the mixing and finalization stages. These sessions were conducted online, connecting from Italy to locations in the United States, notably Miami and Chicago, for hour-long sessions. Currently, I'm immersed in crafting another album for Axis, with plans for yet another one on the horizon.

Aside from music, do you have other passions or interests that bring joy and fulfillment to your life?

In addition to music, I have diverse interests that contribute to my creative inspiration. Football has been a passion of mine, and I even played for a brief period in my life. I also have a deep appreciation for food and enjoy cooking immensely. Anime and video games are other hobbies that I indulge in, providing a source of relaxation and enjoyment outside of my musical pursuits.
